Artists can also register on the morning of 6/14/25 at the Second Saturday in Natomas booth, however artists who have registered in advance will be checked-in and have art/painting surfaces certified first.
CHECK IN:
Participants must come to the Second Saturday in Natomas booth to check in and have their blank art/painting surface (canvas, panel, board, paper, etc.) certified with date and time on the back by booth volunteers. Art/painting surfaces that are not 100% blank will not be certified. Artists may present multiple art/painting surfaces to be certified but only one per artist may be turned in for judging.
COST:
There is no cost to participate. Bring your own art/painting surface, materials, supplies, and gear.
TIMELINE:
7:30am: Check-in/register and get canvases/art paper certified by volunteers
7:30-11:30am: Visit/create art anywhere in North Natomas Regional Park
11:30am: Deadline to turn in art to be judged
11:45am: Art judged
12:15pm: Winners announced, prizes distributed, photos taken, art released back to artists
JUDGING:
Art that has not been submitted by 11:30am will not be judged. Judging decisions are final.
AWARDS:
Group 1: Over 18 -- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place will be awarded ($25 prize, ribbon, certificate)
Group 2: Between 12-18 -- Best under 18 will be awarded ($25 prize, ribbon, certificate)
OTHER:
Winners will be announced, awards will be distributed, and photos will be taken immediately after judging results are finalized. Art will then be immediately released back to the artist. Second Saturday in Natomas is not responsible for art that remain in the booth after release time. Information about the winners and winning art/paintings, as well as other artists/art may be shared on social media, websites, etc.
Art must be suitable for all ages (e.g., must be G rated and be free from political or religious content or depictions of nudity, violence, drugs/smoking, etc.). Second Saturday in Natomas reserves the right to disqualify or declare ineligible for competition, and/or remove any entry which is not in the best interest of One Natomas Farmers Market or Second Saturday in Natomas.
Artists are responsible for their tools, materials, supplies, and other personal property.

We're open to hosting artists of all experience levels working in both 2D and 3D and in a wide variety of mediums. No. There are no hanging fees for participating in Second Saturday in Natomas and the volunteer organizer does not ask for a commission. Depending on where you are showing your work, the business hosting you may ask for a commission (on average between 5-10%) on anything that sells while your work is on display. You'll work out specific details/make agreements directly with the business you are working with. Contact us for details. Based on availability and interest, approximately once a year, a show will be dedicated to student work. Occasionally, 1-2 student artists (under the age of 18) may be invited to participate at other shows. However, this will depend on space availability, theme of the show, etc. Generally, all work in a show must be for sale--this requirement may be waived for student work. If student work is for sale, commission may apply. Contact us for details or to be added to the interest list for future 'call for student artists' opportunities.

We're beginning to explore and experiment with how to add food trucks and vendor booths in the future. At this time we're primarily focused on artists, performers, and Natomas-based businesses looking to host artists for Second Saturday in Natomas.
